Ambient Healthcare has several methods of accepting referrals. The manner in which the intake process is expedited depends mostly on the patient information available. Ambient subscribes to the following principles when evaluating admissions for service:
  • Patients are not discriminated against due to race, color, creed, age, sex, religion, gender preference, national origin, communicable disease, mental health, or physical handicap.
  • Patients are accepted to service provided authorization of insurance benefits are approved, and they agree to pay any balance or deficit financial obligation.
  • Ambient will accept patients under the premise that care can be given in a safe and timely manner.
  • Therapy is prescribed by a licensed physician and deemed appropriate.
  • Any aspect of care does not contradict Ambient's Policy and Procedures.
  • The patient treatment setting is within our service market.
  • The patient consents to receiving home health care.

Our contracted managed care referral sources may choose to submit electronically. It is recommended that referrals be initiated by phone if involving complex disease states, extraordinary circumstances or start of care in less than 24 hours. The online referral form can be used to make a referral directly. You will receive a call back within 24 business hours to review the plan of care. Depending on the therapy ordered, more information may be required. Contact your local branch to register and obtain an access code for eReferral.

Participants in the ECIN (Extended Care Information Network) may make online referrals to us directly by using this internet case management service.
